J.Cole Wins

After two years of hype and speculation, it seems that J.Cole will come out on top with his debut album Cole World: the Sideline Story. Early reports from Billboard suggest that the LP could push 240,000 to 250,000 copies this first week. Not only does this come as a blow to all of Cole’s naysayers, but also to Blink 182, who will have to settle for the runner-up spot with a predicted 140,000 for their “comeback” album.

I have to say that Continue reading

‘Lasers’ Tracklist

Lupe Fiasco fans are getting closer and closer to the day they have fought for. With March 8th quickly approaching, Lupe Fiasco is gearing up to begin the promotional push for his third album Lasers.

On his official website Lupe announced the albums tracklist today. It’s been years since he has released an official album and I was surprised to see that Lasers has so many features on it. Not saying that it’s a bad thing, but I expected him to be running solo after being away for a while.

It looks like he has a strong Continue reading

Poll: Diggy Simmons

Descending from hip-hop royalty, Diggy Simmons is currently holding it down for the genre that many would say is dead.

He may be young, but his families talent is clearly running through his veins. I’m really loving the fact that he hasn’t blown up yet because it’s Continue reading

Kanye Strikes Again and Again

2011 continues to baffle me unexpected twist and turns in the music world. It was announced to that Kanye West release another album this summer. You heard right, another album.

While some people are going to find the new exciting, I honestly am skeptical about it. Kanye delivered a near perfect album with My Beautiful Continue reading

Poll: ‘Lasers’ Artwork

Rap-Up posted the cover to Lupe Fiasco’s upcoming third album Lasers this morning. Normally, I don’t really notice an albums cover unless it’s either amazing or completely absurd. (Read this to find out what I mean). This cover would be in the amazing category.

In all honestly the cover of an album is like the cover of book, meaning people are going to judge it. Lupe has struck gold with making a simple, yet compelling cover thats sure to catch the eye.  Everything from the colors, to the A painted over the O of losers is just Continue reading

Poll: ‘Hold It Against Me’

Britney Spears continues to dominate the charts as information concerning the success of ‘Hold It Against Me’ is slowly released. She now holds the record for the most spins in one week with 3,866. Insane.

Not only that, but the song has continued to stay number 1 on itunes, so there is no way it won’t have the number 1 spot on the digital charts. While all signs are pointing to a number 1 debut on the Hot 100, no one will be certain until later in the week. I will say this though, it would be a huge shock if she does not nab the number 1 spot. With all of this early success it only makes sense.

Twitter continues to ring off with all things Continue reading

Guest Writer: ‘Hold it Against Me’ – Britney Spears

Written By David

I would like to start off this post by reiterating that I am not a blogger.  I am not a journalist.  I am simply a boy who holds some strong opinions and knows what he likes.  And what I really like is Britney.

The first thing y’all should know is that I am a very particular Britney fan.  Although I’m very opinionated, I’ll be the first to admit when Britney does or releases something I don’t care for. i.e. Her last album, Circus (with the exception of Kill the Lights & Unusual You)  I’m well aware that Britney, like every other pop musician, has her faults.  Hopefully my seemingly Continue reading

Kanye Wants To Work With Bieber Again

Justin Biebers manager announed this week that Kanye West has showed some interest in producing tracks for the teen stars brand new album. The duo previously worked on a remix to Biebers song ‘Runaway Love’ back in August.

You can say what you want about Kanye, but you can’t deny that the guy knows what he’s doing. By teaming with the biggest teen star right now there is no doubt that Kanye will push his popularity even further.
